How to add quick curb appeal

How-To Tuesday!

Pressure wash the exterior and clean the windows

Pressure washing is one of the best ways to freshen up the exterior of your home and the money you will save on a new coat of paint for your entire home will be well worth the few hours of labor. With rentals available at hardware stores for a low price, this is something that you can do yourself – just remember that pressure washers are powerful tools that can cause damage to your home if not used properly.

Update your mailbox

One quick fix that is often forgotten is updating the mailbox. This doesn’t have to be a huge project. Clean up or replace the mailbox and add a few landscaping elements around the base of the mailbox. Add your house numbers in a decorative way for an extra design element that will turn heads.

Paint your front door

This can be done in only a couple of hours and can have a huge impact on your home’s first impression. Popular colors for a bit of whimsical effect are robin’s egg, lilac, buttercup, pumpkin, or even a bright pop of turquoise. Choose a gloss finish for ease of cleaning.

Landscaping

Landscaping your yard for curb appeal doesn’t have to be a huge overhaul. Trimming up any existing hedges, pulling weeds, and edging your lawn around pathways can make a world of difference in the appearance of your yard and therefore your home.
